Interactive Neurostimulation

What is Interactive Neurostimulation?

It is a method of optimising the body's function, creating an improved communication system within the body that is necessary for those with chronic illness and pain. The hand-held device uses electrical stimulation along with a feedback mechanism that adjusts the electrical signal according to the body’s needs at the time. Acute pain conditions can sometimes be resolved in just one session, however chronic conditions will require a course of treatment that is unique to the individual.

This method is often used by professional sports teams, including the England National Rugby Union team, to reduce injury recovery times and even pitch side treatments. This is possible due to the optimisation of the body's own healing capacity and for that reason too it is very useful for those who have undergone recent surgery and need to recover well.

How does it work?

It is a highly advanced form of non-invasive neuromodulation for relief of pain of any origin. From a simple sprain to chronic severe pain from conditions such as fibromyalgia, treatment can yield phenomenal results.

This unique technology provides an interactive response to impedance (resistance) changes in the skin. The electrical impulses from the device or attachments adjust dynamically as the device encounters changes in the skin contacting the electrodes. The device continues to adjust the stimulation as the body responds and reflects its changes in the nervous system communicated through the skin.

Is there anyone who cannot be treated with Interactive Neurostimulation?

The following people would NOT be offered treatment:

  • Pregnant women

  • Those prone to seizures

  • Those with a heart pacemaker device fitted
